Design for the “Blaauwberg Village Urban Renewal” received the first prizes in the design competition in Johannesburg in 2001 while he was with KWP Architects.

Design for Willow Park received the first prizes in the Willow Park Conference Center design competition in Johannesburg in 2000 also while with KWP Architects.

Was awarded the Canadian Commonwealth Annual Scholarship and Fellowship Award in Ottawa, Canada in 1997.

Presented a paper entitled “Bale Architecture” at the Montreal Minimum Cost Housing Seminar in Canada in 1997.

Was presented a Cum Laude Award on his Bachelor in Architecture at the UP in Pretoria in 1996 for work done for the “Westfort Urban Renewal”.

Received the annual UP Building Science Award of 1996 for his “Westfort” documentation.

Presented a paper entitled “Carlo Scarpa and the Castel Vechio” as part of the ‘Visiting Lecture Series’ in 1996 at University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Presented “The Capitol” as a special lecture at the TSA, South Africa in 1994.

Received the SAMC Special Award for a restoration proposal with his “Capitol Theatre Pretoria” project in 1994, and received Africana status for the “Capitol” study for urban renewal.

Design for the Von Alan Competition in New York in 1994 was included in the South African submission.
